What is a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner?

A Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) is an individual with an advanced nursing degree in mental health.  PMHNP's are able to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate treatment outcomes related to mental health conditions.  A PMHNP delivers care through a combination of therapy and medication management when indicated.

What is Functional Medicine?

Functional Medicine is a specialty that utilizes an individualized approach to determine the underlying cause of a disease. The patient and practitioner evaluate the patient's history and health goals to formulate a treatment plan that oftentimes utilizes a variety of simple tests as well as nutritional and lifestyle interventions. This specialty of medicine seeks to give solutions to problems many individuals struggle to manage with the traditional psychiatry approach alone.

How do I become a patient?

If you are interested in working with Morgan, email Transcend at

Prior to your first appointment, you will be given a packet of intake paperwork that will provide Morgan with necessary information to start her detective-like work and prepare for your evaluation.  Once this information is returned, Morgan will utilize the history to prepare for your evaluation and begin to formulate your treatment plan.  Morgan will contact you to set up an initial evaluation where the two of you will review your history, obtain additional information, and determine your treatment goals.  This appointment can take place in person or via an online telemedicine platform and will be about an hour in duration.

Depending on your specific desires and needs, the initial appointment will conclude with determining the direction of preferred treatment, whether it be through pharmaceutical and therapeutic management or additional testing to uncover the root cause of the symptoms.

Follow up appointments will be determined based upon client needs and direction of treatment.
