Internal Family Systems (IFS) Therapy is a psycho-spiritual therapy model that is a safe and gentle way to help heal the parts of us that hold extreme emotions and traumas. IFS helps bring forth the internal healer and leader within each of us to bring compassion and balance to one’s internal system. When one’s internal world is more harmonious, the external chaos is much more manageable.
Michaela's role as an IFS Therapy practitioner is to help you compassionately meet the parts of yourself and help them unburden the traumas, negative beliefs, and intense emotions they hold. In unburdening these parts, it helps free one’s internal leader (what we call the ‘Self’ in the IFS model) to become a more emotionally regulated and self sovereign individual. All parts are always welcome.
Michaela's training in Level 1 IFS Therapy was completed in May 2021 through the IFS Institute. She will be completing Level 2 IFS Therapy training in November 2021. Although IFS Therapy is an evidence based form of psychotherapy, the IFS Institute does not require practitioners to be a licensed mental healthcare professional.
Michaela is just a typical midwestern girl that’s always had odd interests. She graduated from UNI in 2016 with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art with double minors in Religious Studies and Art History. She got into the healing arts through my own healing process and found my purpose along the way. Michaela became an IFS Therapy Practitioner in May 2021, and is a cat mom of 2. She spends her free time with friends, family, enjoying the outdoors, learning, and making things. She loves to travel and explore both the natural world and the information world. She also loves to read and research about natural health and healing, energy medicine, metaphysics, mind/body/spirit connection, hermetic philosophy, and psychology.
